General e-mail netiquette

January

Since geeks spend much of our time communicating over e-mail, today I’m going to share some general tips on the netiquette for writing e-mails.

Aaron Toponce wrote a very good 4-part series on this topic and I can warmly recomend it — it’s well written, up to date and separated into bite-sized posts.

part 1, part 2, part 3 and part 4 of his e-mail Netiquette series.

The only thing I would add is that, for the love of all that’s sacred, please use Unicode (UTF-8 or later) as the character encoding.
